New to this forum. So here's a bit of an introduction
My wife and I have owned several old houses over the years. Last year we moved into northern NH to be in the White Mountains year round. Our house here is a bit of a long story, but it started out as a two story Victorian with two towers. The son of the owner a local lawyer turned builder decided to take the top floor off and the towers and use the lumber to build a house on the ocean for his parents. The house is now an arts and crafts bungalow style. The interior is still pretty much Victorian, with some interesting woodwork, but as always a work in progress.

Hi, that is an interesting yet mixed emotion story of how two houses were built out of one.
It reminds me of an 1890's home that was once a 3 story Victorian on the beach at the north end of Brigantine NJ. The storm of 1944 took out and collapsed the first floor with the top two floors intact, so they removed the debris and made it a two story home. That home was used until condemned and torn down in 1992

what a house and an interesting story as well...is that porch roof cantilevered from the house framing? quite the overhang....fantastic view too!
I have hiked 46 of the 48 4,000 footers....hoping to finish this year then I moved into a new old house and a new new shop...lots of work ahead of me...

Good luck with your new home and work shop, I know the effort it takes to move and get a business going again. We have a good view of Mt. Cabot, one of the 48, 4000 footers. This is a good time of year with foliage coming soon to complete the last two on your list.

Very attractive home; hard to visualize what it might have looked like with the 3rd floor & towers! Welcome.
