eric, what will be the color of the siding? I have painted my restored front door with a very similar color to your exterior sash color...my trim color was to be green and my siding a soft butter yellow......seeing your yellowish trim color, I am open to change...
thanks...

Great work with those windows, keep em coming!

Thanks, everyone! Funny Jade, my house is just the opposite....the yellow trim and a green body. I have three greens i am deciding between but Wethersfield Moss will probably be the winner. I think the three go together quite well. Like yours, my front door will be the same as the exterior of the sash. That orangey hue will also be picked up as an accent on some trim pieces along the frieze board, eaves and soffits. I am also thinking I might chamfer the edges of my vertical corner trim boards and paint the routed edge with the "Audubon Russet", as Benjamin Moore calls it. Good idea, bad idea? I'm opening that one up to the public.
Pictures of your front door, Jade? Where can they be found?

So about 4 years ago I had to replace the one 4x8 corner post in my living room as the lower couple of feel were rotten away. I thought all was good, but then it turns out the opposite corner of the room had the same problem! Ugh. It happened a long time ago as someone had scabbed in two 2x4's next to it but it still bothered me. Yesterday I picked up some free timbers and today put one to use. I cut the old post to clean wood and because of the direction of the rot had to do a multi-angle lap joint. Three big ass 10" long bolts now hold the joint together, also passing through the one 2x4 that had been scabbed in probably 70 years ago. Turned out pretty good and solid. I tossed the siding back on with some silicone. The siding is going to get replaced with new eventually anyway. Here's the job:

Eric, do you even know how to take on a small project, one that doesn' require a sawsall or sledge hammer? As others have mentioned you had done a great job bringing those windows back to life.
Jade I actually clicked the bigassbolt link. To my suprise there actually is a bigassbolt shop.

Wow great work. I'd be scared to death doing something like that.
Your house is coming along great. I'm hopeful NJ weather is mild this year!
