New Owners of the Isaac Riddle Georgian Colonial 1787, Bedford NH

Post by gredmond1 »

Hello from Bedford NH. We purchased this Georgian style colonial back in 2018 and the work continues to restore her. We are the second owners as it never left the family for over 230 years. Photos from the day we moved in on these websites.

So far we have updated the kitchen, put a new roof on house and barn, stripped peeling wallpaper and painted most of the walls. Next on the list are 1, Fixing chimneys 2. re-glazing windows and 3. refinishing wide plank pumpkin pine floors.

Wish us luck! - The Redmond's

Well welcome to the district, and you have a beautiful home, mostly unmolested, which is real rare for a home of this age. Those bathrooms are great examples of the era in which the were built, many of us here go to great efforts trying to replicate that look. I see the electrical mains have been updated, by you? Also they did a great job in making the radiators disappear.
I sense there will be many hours antiquing for colonial furniture to suite.

My jaw dropped at the amazing original condition of your house. 230 years in the same family, that is amazing.
Love to hear about your projects. She sure is a beauty!
If everything is coming your way..... You're in the WRONG lane!!!

Thanks Ron! electrical and furnace were updated before we bought it. And yes we love the 1930's-1940's bathrooms.
