Back to say hello, my 2nd life.

Post by Banner »

Hi Folks,
To all of you who had known about the Vincent house and our restoration of it and for those who followed, supported and prayed for me with my health issues, I want to say thank you. The disease progressed a lot in the the last year. scar tissue formed in my lungs and destroyed them. By April I was on 10lpm O2. In March, 2018 I was added to the transplant list at UW Madison. By May a suitable donor match was found and I underwent a 12 hour

bilateral lung transplant. It’s been 6 months now and it’s been up and down. I’m very hopeful about my future and so grateful at a 2nd chance at life. I am off oxygen and I can breath again. I am living in Madison to be close to my Doctors and the transplant center. I sure miss The old Vincent house. It is on the market if anyone is interested. La Crosse, WI Is a lovely place to live.

Miss you all!
Take care and God Bless.
Dan

Beautiful house. I hope she finds another worthy caretaker who loves her as much as you do.

Best wishes on your health journey.

Dan, your experience is a sobering reminder of our vulnerability. Best of luck to you.

Dan, so happy to hear your on the mend, sorry to here your new reality will not include the Vincent house. I certainly hope the new care takers will cherish and appreciate your efforts. How about another old home, only much, much smaller. A little mid century or small A&C bungalow already restored. Just move in an snicker at the rest of us still scraping paint.

dan, with an attitude like yours you may just live to be 100! thanks for the update...you've been
through a lot and it's so important that you focus on your own quality of life...you can request visitation
rights to the Vincent house when after it's passed on to the next stewards!...

I thought of many thing while reading your post...I am an organ donor and have made sure family
and friends are aware and that my license has the organ donor logo on it...it's just the right thing
to do in the unfortunate case you exit this life due to an accident...

I wish you the very best!

That's quite a story to live to tell about. I hope you have a happy Christmas and many more to come. Even if you aren't working on a house, I'm quite sure you are welcome to join in the discussions and share your expertise. That is a marvelous house, for sure, but your new lungs are worth so much more !
