We bought our "new" home in October and we are starting our renovations now!! Excited to find a forum where I can post questions and get help as we take this journey. Below is my blog where I am chronicling our journey as well. Only one post (on this topic) but hope to keep it going as we walk through our renovations.

Welcome - congratulations on your new home! She's beautiful! Did the former owners leave behind any of those great pieces shown in the pics?
Re: Madison, AL - 1911 Home
welcome to the neighborhood!
beautiful home...I bet the woodwork was originally natural as seen on some of the doors...hmmm, two kitchens (says laundry)? some people would look at the green cabinets and old sink and think "we need a new updated kitchen"...I would be thinking "i want that kitchen!!"...
.....jade

I wish they had left more of the old pieces! Alas, not much. We did get several wardrobes from them, which is nice because there are no closets in three if the bedrooms.
There really is only one kitchen. The green cabinets and sink are out int the laundry room. They were the 'original cabinets' but I don't know if that really means original to the home or if hey were the last ones before the kitchen was relocated. The laundry room and part of the current kitchen were additions to the home around the 60's/70's.
We are the first owners outside the original family and one of the heirs actually just lives around the corner. She has said she is going to go through some of her things and being us up some photos and stuff to look through.

Beautiful house! How lucky you are to have a family member not only nearby, but willing to help you enjoy the house. I'm with jade on the 'laundry room' cabinets!!
