as I don't typically paint hardware, I would say a good oil based paint would work...
never been fond of spray paints but I bet one would work...

paul....traditional preservation philosophy suggests that we keep as much of the original as possible...there is a dollop of interpretation in that...my first big project was the complete restoration of a 1746 cape in provincetown, ma...the windows were plank framed and the house timber framed...som...

when you say 'repair' do you mean splicing in new wood or use of epoxy? I would stay away from epoxy on this one...it will be a challenge to fit the pieces perfectly but it can be done...

the difference in dual glaze and type m is that type m has more naptha to encourage a quicker dry time... dual glaze is for applying to sash outdoors...type m is for shop application... oil products set up by oxidation, in other words by air flow...generally you have consistent air flow outdoors so ...
