Re: Any advice on restoring Steel Casement windows?

I can't remove them unless I am going to replace them with something else because they have a fin around the outside that is set in the mortar of the bricks. So refinish in place it is. I also have to find a way to do some kind of interior storm/screen.

question about brands of aluminum storm windows

Of those of you who have bought Aluminum storm windows for your refurbished wood windows, has anyone bought Quaker brand or Provia brand and if so can you review them for me?

are they well weatherstripped ? Quality? Price? Have you had any problems with them?

thanks

Re: all I need to know about storm Windows?

I will be going with either Larson Gold or Provia alluminum storms. It sounds to me like you could use one of those on some of your windows but it sounds like the swing out ones, you might want Interior storms for instead.

Thanks so much that was a good review.
Anyone else?
I will probably go back and forth between silver and gold right up to when I order them.

Larson Storm Windows

I know a few of you have put in Larson storm windows, and I was wondering if those who have had them for a while can tell me how they are doing for you? Also if you could say which series you have, Bronze, Silver or Gold sseries. I am planning to get them for my WV house but it has 42 windows and I ...
