Re: Our First House!

Happy to report the mill had what I needed in stock. Should be here Thursday I'me feeling pretty good so I put in se...

Re: Our First House!
I think it's pretty neat that the warm brick sort of pulls in the unpainted door shown in the same image. (Not clear if that's the hall side for the door, but likely, as it seems the other side is painted if I'm reading the pictures right.) It's still a neat color play to me even though that door i...

Re: Our First House!
Here are a few pictures of the nearly done bathroom. Plenty left to do, starting with the windows, crown molding, and linen closet. Apologies for the poor pics as I took them quickly prior to getting ready to turn in. View from the hallway. IMG_0175.JPG Semi-frameless doors. We learned the hard way ...

Re: Our First House!
Even just the bricks on pallets is a sight for sore eyes. 2 and 3/4" in jumbo brick will be used to make the ~200' front walk and ~700' patio. Pretty excited to see how this turns out.

Re: Our First House!
I just realized I never posted pictures of the status of the bathroom and the kitchen. Both are almost done. Pics to follow tomorrow. Between traveling between NJ and CT, and not feeling that great, pictures will have to wait one more day, sorry! I did, however, snap a pic of our horrible backyard....

Re: What I did at my house today...
Ober, yours are looking good. What are you using on them? Are you thinking about leaving some of the paint on them? Thanks, but it sure is a lot of work. My parents used muriatic acid when they stripped their fireplace in the 70s. I am not sure if that's what I'd use, but I know it sure does take t...

Re: What I did at my house today...
I got a bit antsy and couldn't wait for the painter to come and strip the brick. It looks better even like this, in my opinion.
