Re: My First Home -a 1924 Bungalow in Lincoln, Nebraska

Welcome to the District. I wasn't a Wavy Glass member, but I'm still glad you found your way here. Thank Lily! I wasn't super active at WG but made the leap with everyone else when we moved. And then I got engaged and married in a 5 month span last year/this February. Things got hectic and I stoppe...

Re: I guess we lost a member...

Of course I'm bumping bad news up to the top of the thread as I weed back through all of the happenings I missed in the last 6 months. But honestly - your post about you father was very affecting. Hope everything has worked itself out financially and your family is remembering your father fondly.

Re: My First Home -a 1924 Bungalow in Lincoln, Nebraska

Thanks Mick! So I thought it was just about time for an update. The bathrooms that I started back in 2015 are finally 98% done. Projects, as you know, always go a bit slower than you expect them to. Re: The bungalow project

So EC - what's new with the Bungalow project? Is it ready for sale now?

I had been gone from the Forum for a while - around November through April - and am just getting caught up. Just spent a couple hours reading this thread.

Update time! :)

Re: Bathroom project

Phil: I'm under the impression that in the US you have to use cement board but everywhere else greenboard seems to be the norm under tile. Preferably with an additional waterproofing layer like RedGard. Even in the US greenboard with a waterproofing layer is gaining momentum. Schluter Kerdi is anot...

Re: Curtain Question

Is this an optical illusion or is the window smaller than the trim for it - it looks like it narrows into the window. If that's the case, not sure I would put bistro curtains in there.

Re: Curtain Question

I'm going to go rogue and say black rod - on the trim. I would actually think about putting them about 3 or 4 inches higher than the trim. As long as you could mount them on that wall - is it plaster?

With long billowy sheers that would look great.

Personal preference though.

Re: War & Peace Cakes

Ahh! Thanks! I'm sure I could have been more proactive and googled for an answer but I was content to sit and patiently wait. ;)

I might have to try this one.
