Re: who has two houses?

Is it listed and how long has it been on the market? Deleted - now that I see the listing I realize my input was not relevant! Have you contacted agent and gone to look at it walk around, see how it feels? All I can say is after looking at a zillion houses in my lifetime, there were only a few that...

Re: who has two houses?

I actually have 3 houses--my home, the house I'm renovating, and one which actually consists of two acres of land with 2 small log cabins and a barn. The cabins are in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and we bought them as a family vacation getaway. My sisters used to come up and we'd all...

Re: Cutting Linoleum

Oh I just saw this! I suggested Marmoleum in your other post. Based on my research, I thought it would be tricky to do this well myself, and I went with one of their installers. I have the sheet Marmoleum, and I picked a colorful one which I love. No idea about the prices of these new products, but ...

Re: Encaustic cement tiles

Marmoleum (linoleum) tiles might be another option you'd like. Linoleum has been used in homes since ~1860s and the patterns and linoleum rugs were very colorful. I have Marmoleum floors in the areas where there I didn't have any wood, and I love it. You can either buy the premade Marmoleum tiles or...

I'm more likely to install the giant 19th century knife switch I bought recently to disable all internet/cell. :)

Re: What I did at my house today...

I got some doors...one for the closet under the stairs and new front door, which isn't exactly Greek Revival but it's mid 19th century and I love it.

Mudroom is almost done.

The mudroom looks beautiful! I'm really loving the colors.

That is where you are supposed to hang your souvenir spoon collection. Not joking.

I also immediately thought of collectible spoons.

You have no idea how tempted I am to grab one for my future mudroom renovation only I'm not totally sure what's going to happen with that space. Annie Sloan and chalk paint are the enemy.

old instrument

inspired by posts about antique instruments, my banjo teacher gave me this beautiful instrument that's very old. it's not functional because of a big hole in the body. if anybody can give me insight on its history, it's much appreciated! https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4423/36636095982_421d223fb5_b.jp...
