Well that worked out well. For those who need to know more about us, We work in Calgary and have a home there as well. I travel a lot so my posts tend to be a bit speratic We are novice century home owners but we've both wanted a grand home and fill it with appropriate furnishings.

Lupinhouse, there are many catalogue homes on the prairies. Sears, Hudson Bay and even Timmothy E. sold them through the local hardware ar lumber yards. Kansas, I had a insulation contractor do the spray and attic. I did the all the draft sealing. Most of the drafts were from lack of maintenance and repairs. I did the (still am) doing the windows on the worse side of the house restoring them that helped a whole lot, more than the effort to do the jo...

My gas bill dropped over 60% after doing the same. Spray foam.rim joists and basement as well as crawl space. R50 blown into the attic. high efficiancy furnase combined with a lot of little draft sealing. Leaves more $ for more restoration and antiques.

Well here I am as well, the spam on the pre 1900 forum has not been a problem for me but dam, sorting through a hole page of spam on the general forum was a bit of a nuisance. I to will be visiting both sights.
