Re: Help! My historic neighborhood is in trouble!

Seems like the damage to be done to your homes' property values would be enough to make the homeowners fight it. It sure would do it for me!

Re: Is this a dumb idea?

I have painted our laundry/enclosed back porch floor with just wall paint and it has held up fine. But the bath made me wonder because of the water issue, not that it gets much.
Thanks for the input!

Is this a dumb idea?

Congratulations of becoming a home owner. The house looks great! I love that kitchen sink. I would have bought the house just to get that. And that shed dormer is perfect too.

Re: Vintage Colorful Plumbing Fixtures

OMgosh! Those fixtures are beautiful. I would do the pink (I don't even like pink) with a white toilet in a heartbeat if I was redoing a bath. The lilac is wonderful too. I recently saw an aqua sink in an otherwise all white bathroom. It looked awesome!

Re: Wild Geese Stone House

In look at the before and after of the kitchen, I couldn't tell if the beautiful blue cabinets in the after where original or new. What say you? The kitchen is fantastic!

Re: Kitchen Floor Decision

It was the only way to access the basement at the time. But now it is right in front of the sink so we reinforced it and laid the subfloor over it. In the original, unfitted kitchen, the sink was on another wall. The best thing about uncovering the layers was the pieces of pale green and pale yellow...

Re: Kitchen Floor Decision

We have the original wood floors all throughout the old part of the house. In the kitchen new, cheap oak floors were installed over layers. When we got down to the original wood, they were chopped up from all the different configurations of the kitchen. There was a trap door, holes for pipes, reinfo...
