Since I brought my belongings (those that I figured may be of use) down from Connecticut, renovations here have been made awkward and, as a result, slowed way down. I still don't have a com...

Re: The devil is in the details, or not.
Thanks, Ron. I see that I posted photos a while back in another thread. I can't keep track of these things.

Re: The devil is in the details, or not.
Ron, that lamp is spectacular. What a mood it must create in a house with subdued (not gloomy!) lighting. I just realized that I never posted photos of my windows made by the stained glass artist in Starkville, MS. I guess I was waiting to be finished with preparing and painting the trim but I got s...

Looking forward to seeing your progress on this project, as I too am in the process (back burnered) of stripping and restoring stairs, too. Will you have a runner? Rods?

I've condemned previous owners to the agonizing depths of eternal damnation for lesser offenses. Conversely, an enchanted corner of Heaven is reserved for those who rescue these defiled treasures from the maw of the mindless fad. Nicely done!

Re: Thornewood Antics
Thank you, Ron. In that bed to the left with the palm and boxwoods, I had a mass planting of zinnias most of the summer. They do well here but were starting to get raggedy (no, they were beyond raggedy) so I pulled them out. I took the photo because it looks so much tidier now. Plenty to be done out...

The hyacinth bean dies to the ground in winter. The stems are typical bean vines, green and tough but not woody. I didn't expect it to get so big and wonder if it may be shading out the camellias it's scrambling over. It won't strangle them but they need light just like any plant.

They look really good Ron. I see what you mean about the storms. You lose the subtle arch at the top but you don't lose heat.
