A couple of days ago I accidentally broke my antique glass towel bar. It had survived in use for at least 80 years at my former house, then through two moves. Corcetiere, are the connection screws isolated from the outer shell? If not a couple winds of a good electrical tape should be in order. Often the paper insulator does this job. Have you decided we’re to mount them yet? Ok! I was thinking about using some electric tape. I’ll do that just to be safe...

I second the recommendation for General Finishes Java stain and garnet shellac. That is what the top professional in my city uses when he restores Arts and Crafts furniture.

I love free stuff! I dumpster picked this giant vintage glass serving platter that was sitting just outside the dumpster directly behind my house! It's gorgeous and in perfect condition, so wonderful for the holidays!
