Re: Another Historic Loss
doesn't the truckers insurance cover the damage? If the trucker was overdriving his visibility it was obviously his fault. The county is going after the truckers insurance, as the building itself was uninsured in the county possession... but the cost may cover demolition. In my opinion though, they ...

Another Historic Loss
Or...another kind of historic loss. Here in Southern Florida, unlike the rest of a lot of the country, it is hard to find properties that were in existence before 1900. Especially those with a colorful past. In this case it would be the 1889 Desert Inn, sitting by itself on a busy intersection, trad...

Re: Pictures of Home
Welcome to a fellow small, but old home owner. I was confused at first, because of the condition and look of the current home until I saw the old photos. Great history!

Re: Antique toilet primer
Someone gave me a matching toilet...for Christmas! It matches my mid 40's green tub, (which replaced the clawfoot back in the past) and all I did was mention to someone that I wondered how a matching toilet and sink would look with it. So a friend of my daughter, with too much money to spend, finds ...

Re: A sad day for old buildings.
The work was careless. Was there a standby with extinguishers or monitors nearby? The place is surrounded with water, no pumps with hoses on standby? This is the second time a church under restoration in France had its roof burned. You would think that some official would be watching every move care...
