Re: Bath Window Suggestions

I would wonder what condition the window is in currently. Photos would be great! Do you currently have a claw foot tub? I have one of each variety - one bathroom window that we removed as it was in bad shape. We did end up replacing with glass block and we really like it. But there was very little l...

Re: Menards, Why?!?

Aw, a small town farmboy from Nebraska, too! Yeaaah.. not sure why he did that. Hmm.. :eh:

He could have at least removed the frame nicely so it could be sold with the french doors.

Re: The mad painter strikes again!

Props to them. Wow - that interior was trashed. Would much rather see trim and doors painted than the house demo-ed to make way for something like a duplex. They even recreated the trim where it was missing.

Re: New projects from summer and fall

Looking great! Nice work.

I hate hiring out to new-to-me contractors. But I especially hate looking at a job I paid for that has obvious flaws. Good for you guys in making a change like that mid project.

Re: old house animals

It's no picnic for them, either, to be in a shelter. Awww. Wish I could adopt them all. But the max in the city is 3.. and the husband's max is 2 (which I'll take! It was only one for the longest time..). When I get an acreage.. I want chickens. How can you not love dogs? I'm pretty positive that d...

Re: What's the time period of this home

Very nice progress! Fence and then on to seeding next spring right? I love exterior changes. It always seems like for the first couple of years the exterior gets waaaay worse before it gets better. Demo-ing crap, taking out trees, re-grading.. usually a pile of old scrap wood somewhere in the lawn.

Lady is 10 and has been a great companion on all of the house projects. We got Riley last year and she’s afraid of lo...

Whew, yeah - 265 'or best offer'. Makes me wonder what best offer might take it. $40? Shipping would be a beast.

Re: Information on this Lamp?

Another fun fact - a lamp like this was seen in Garth Brooks’ If Tomorrow Never Comes music video. That video was released in 1989 but of course that doesn’t really date the lamp appropriately.

I’m a huge Garth fan. It’s probably the reason I kept the lamp. :romance-admire:

Re: Information on this Lamp?

I actually own one that’s very similar. It belonged to my grandparents. I believe they got it for a 25th anniversary. So I’d put mine around the 1960s. The bottom lights up on mine as well.
