Re: Please help me figure out these basement storm windows
These look exactly like my basement windows. And I'd fully agree with what you've heard - glazing on the exterior. Without glazing on the outside your muntins are going to decay a lot faster than they would normally right? Water is going to sit and rot. Weird installation. Some of mine were in backw...

Re: The bungalow project
As long as it's not as bad as Daniel Kanter's Olivebridge Cottage everything's alright! I love Manhattan Nest! But.. that project would have sent me running. EC, I did wonder when this thread became so quiet after so much activity. I'm so sorry for your loss. And so glad you're feeling well enough ...

Re: For your viewing pleasure.
Wow, that tour is impressive. It's so cool to be able to look at everything in so much detail - I stopped on the stairs to look at all the photos! That house though. Amazing. I love that they have enough room for two formal sitting rooms on the first floor AND a 'modern' living room. Plus kitchen, b...

Re: Seashells in the garden
Interesting! Thanks for sharing. I wonder if your PO just thought it was cute.. like using mulch or landscaping rock? But you say they're crushed in your bed? So maybe not as cute. And doesn't explain why only in one bed.

Re: Our Philly Money Pit
Oh my gosh- thanks for sharing. There was a wealth of information in those photos. I thought to myself when reading through it - they must blog.. and then you mentioned your blog. Did you ever go back to your first structural engineer and ask for your money back? I would be so upset that not one but...

Well you pegged me with this statement then! :
I certainly would be happy to own that home. But I do see your point. Standards sure have changed.

I actually like most of the detailing. The only two things that jump out at me are those downspouts and the stone choice.
Otherwise.. I think it's a pretty good attempt.
4 million though!? Yikes.

Re: what date would you put on this console table?
That table looks wonderful there - I love the contrast of the colors of the wood with your green wall.
And yes, those legs are stunning. I'm not sure I would have ever noticed they were made from a single piece if it hadn't been pointed out. Remarkable.

"Right now I have space to entertain exactly two guests. I could have more, but they would have to go in a different room so they couldn't interact with the rest of us. " Yes.. that would not be ideal!
Looking forward to seeing photos!
