Re: Wooden Counter Top for Bathroom

I never considered that. Tile. I was going to go with something like this in wood. The bathroom has that cottage/painted tole ware look on the main storage cabinet. So I didn't even think of tile. Does this give a period look (wood back splash) or is this part of the made up faux Victorian, rustic f...

Re: Wooden Counter Top for Bathroom

Thank you Ron. Oak... now that you have ID'd it I wondered why I couldn't see past the stained color and realize it would be one of the most durable woods out there. My present sink was made from an old cabinet. Being in a very tight space finding a replacement piece will be more trouble than it is ...

Wooden Counter Top for Bathroom

Things go real slow over here. It was impossible to get my regular plumber in here, he came twice to look at the...

My jaw dropped at the amazing original condition of your house. 230 years in the same family, that is amazing.
Love to hear about your projects. She sure is a beauty!

Yes how are things now that you are in??? Pictures! Not only to share but to track your journey as you go along with the repair and restoration. There will be days when you will be discouraged at the amount of work you are still faced with and keeping an album filled with your progress and accomplis...

Re: Finally found some decent replacement furnishings

Gothichome, a serving set.... you are giving me permission to go and hunt things down at some of the remaining antique malls - and that is NOT a bad thing! For the moment I placed what I thought would work on the marble counter. Next I have to find a tiny hall tree that is very compact in width and ...

Re: What I did at my house today...

I hope the toilet overflow is going to be fixed today. Been after the master of procrastination (my husband) for 8 days and it still isn't fixed. We are manually turning on and off the toilet just to use it. I am mad at him, instead of going to Home Depot to work on what is necessary he just announc...

Re: Finally found some decent replacement furnishings

Gothichome, thank you for your comments. I went back out to the internet to look at Flint pieces to see if I could find any matches to the buffet with the Arts and Crafts doors. I did find out that Flint & Horner were a team. I am glad you mentioned that you had a feeling the piece possessed A&C des...
