Re: Relocating built in buffet
How did you "refinish" the wood? Did you have to strip it? Was it just old and tired? I'm wondering about mine since it is quite orange/yellow. Is there any way to mellow the color without completely refinishing.
I ended up stripping all the previous finish off the wood. T...

Re: Relocating built in buffet

Welcome! I agree with others who suggested living with the house for a year. We too have a buffet between the kitchen and dining room. All our wood trim is also Douglas Fir. After refinishing all the wood we painted the walls with BM Georgian Green. This or similar shades of green look really nice w...

Re: Our addition by day

Our laundry room used to be off the kitchen also. That area will now be a breakfast nook (right now it is the storage spot for my work cart as I decide which project to start next). The new laundry room does have access from both sides.

That's weird that they are upside down. I must be having some issues with my iPad as they are right side up for me now but we're upside down in my photo editor.

Re: First Period New England, 1600's

A couple months ago we were in Boston on vacation and I told someone that we live in a historic home...100 years old. My husband said, "I'm pretty sure our house is historic at home in California but not here in Massachusetts." Congrats on your historic home and many blessings for the year...

Re: It's time to work on the buffet and I have a question

I finished my wood refinishing project a couple months ago, coincidentally at the same time our addition was completed. The cabinet doors all work beautifully. The only thing I might do in the future is add some lighting. But for now I'm enjoying the fact that I completed my 21 month long wood refin...

Re: Our addition by day - Final Photos

Our addition has been done for a couple months now. It's been wonderful having the extra space and a second bathroom. Here are some photos.
