Re: What I did at my house today...

Kelt, painting walls was an exceptable treatment for Victorian homes. m One of many examples Yes I know that. It's still a vastly inferior finish for plaster, which is quite beautiful on the wall itself. Before the 19th century brought us modern paints, distemper paints or color washes (sealed with...

Re: Plaster repair on ceiling and near chimney

I wish I can say all I have are superficial cracks, but that is why I bought Big Wally's stuff. I haven't done it yet (worked to get kitchen gutted), but I will post pictures on the blog when I do. Right now, I am working on removing loose plaster for the entire house so that the prep all takes pla...

Re: What I did at my house today...

Don't mind Phil's comment about plaster, he will destroy it whenever he gets the chance. He will fuss endlessly over some shitty wood molding, but has been known to rip out even 16th century plaster jobs with his teeth, and router bits. LOL !! yes, don't let me near your plaster. in one day I could...

Re: What I did at my house today...

Yeah, I have to say my first thought was that there had been a builtin. But then.. suggestions of rough housing battle wounds seemed more plausible. What type of room is this? I think this room was the master bedroom. (which makes our theories even funnier) In my place there was a large 4x9 drywall...

Hey, I resemble that remark. Still have my 1987 NES and actually play it with some regularity. Gotta love that side scrolling action.

Do you have a power glove? That's some shit there. Serious power.

Re: Plaster repair on ceiling and near chimney

Yeah I have all the basic tools and supplies, I've used them for the previous repairs I've done. This job is just little bit more in depth than my previous repairs. Stuff I've done in the past has been pretty superficial, this seems more structural as the ceiling moves a little bit near where it me...

That IS the plaster magic method ... the selling point of BW is how easy it is. The only special thing, and expensive thing, about it is the adhesive. Don't know anything about the adhesive recommended here.
