Update on the back parlor project. It is finished for this year. The ceiling and moldings are in primer and ready for colour, but that’s next winters project. Finished the clean up today.

Re: Thornewood Antics

James, a lot of work goes into cleaning paint off brick, your efforts are paying off. The fireplace once again looks to be the center of attraction, as it should be. The ceiling fixture, did you do the restoration, it looks grand.

Yes this is the back parlor, it houses the tv etc so basically the liv...

Re: Thornewood Antics

James, I think that’s exactly what they would have done at that time to bring a little pizzaz to the peice. As far as stripping I think with the give away price of run of the mill Victorian and Edwardian flat board furniture stripping and refinishing is not such a tabo thing. Now stripping and chalk...

Re: Gothichome, the restoration of.

Some progress to report, almost finished replicating and replacing the missing cornice trim in the back parlor project. https://www.thehistoricdistrict.org/gallery/image/2623/source This took a lot longer than I was expecting, most of the time was waiting on plaster molding to dry. But progress is p...
