Clawfoot Shower Kit
We are looking to add a shower to our clawfoot tub in the upstairs bathroom. Any advice on what brands are good and where to buy such a thing?
We were looking at the Randolph Morris stuff at vintagetub.com. Any firsthand experience good or bad with their product?
Thanks!

Re: Name That Furniture!
Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of the floor. The outside is still wooden clapboards and much of the "gingerbread" is still in tact. Best I can do tonight is a google streetview screenshot. The house sat on a double corner lot when built with the side shown in the old picture facing ...

Re: Name That Furniture!
Nice work Willa! It is a murphy bed.
The house has one of the most amazing floors that I've seen. Beautiful inlay patterns composed of several species of wood. I have always associated Queen Anne with grand large homes. It's neat to see the style in cottage form!

Name That Furniture!
I love this piece. It's in a "vintage" store ran by a cousin of mine. It's always interesting to hear peoples guesses as to what it is. Not many get it right... but you are an astute bunch of history lovers here who I am sure will have no problem guessing! IMG_20170309_171033.jpg The piece...

Re: Really thin wall
It's a 1912. Balloon framed with nominal lumber.
edit: maybe nominal isn't the right term. The 2x4's are 1 1/2 x 3 1/2

Re: Really thin wall
My whole house is this way, every single interior wall, and every one of them has wiring inside. It was never even mentioned by the home inspector when I bought the place Maybe it's a Canada thing? Are the studs just toenailed to the joists above and below? This wall does run perpendicular to the j...

Really thin wall
I noticed the wall between the bathroom and hallway upstairs is really thin. The entire wall is only 3 3/8" thick which is thinner than the 3 1/2" two by fours I would have suspected were used to frame the wall. I popped off a light switch cover and found the lath and plaster measured arou...
