sorry you're having the peeling paint issue...not what you want to see when you've spent so much time restoring them...in the many years i have used sarco type m putty, i have noticed peeling only twice...once when i used a new paint developed by fine paints of europe--a water based paint...it faile...

i concur that it is most likely dap which typically takes 30 days or more to set up sufficiently to paint...oil products cure a bit quicker with air flow...if you can set up a fan on low and have the sash in a relatively warm environment, you should be able to paint in a week or so... whiting, or ca...

well, isn't that something...indeed she was headed to my shop to drop off some leaded glass panels she had worked on for my business...in case you see them again, it's mr. bates......they have lots of fun with my dog running in the fields behind my shop!

let me add that anyone who works on their own sash in my shop must wear a respirator and an apron when working with lead...I advise that they bring a change of clothes and wash up before eating or heading home for the day...that's just common sense!

corsetwoman... I offered my feedback on the infrared products.... I would say your 'licensed professional' learned what s/he knows from the organization offering the classes...the rules are over the top and full of fear mongering...I have been using a heat gun for 25 years, have not always been care...
