Re: Yard guests
Baby rabbit den in the strawberry patch. Their hole is about the size of a tennis ball at the opening.

Re: "House" guests
I chased him around the kitchen with a broom trying to whack him. Perhaps your goal could have been to get him out of the house instead. Sorry- just me embellishing a story in an effort to amuse- the broom was something to keep between him and my cat and my bare feet which he seemed intent on charg...

Re: "House" guests
Not sure how it got in but about a month ago I went into the laundry room in the morning to feed the cat and a weasel came out from under the dryer to eat the cat food. I had been wondering how the cat's appetite had picked up as of late and her dish was clean every morning. I chased him around the ...

Re: Best Way to Age a Bathroom?
I love the wood floor in my bathroom and I don't have issues with moisture. We put a tile shower in what used to be a small closet and then I put the door casings back up around it and hung a curtain. I would totally turn that into a wine cellar![/quote]
If we ever move out I would totally set that up first to help the sale- we stack wood for our wood furnace that's nearby.

Re: Talk to me about cisterns
I'm sitting on top of the trap door to our cistern as I write. We use the room above it as a dining room but it was once the original kitchen and must have had a sink and hand pump. We found the trap door when we pulled up the carpeting to refinish the floors when we moved in. A few years ago we cut...
