I wish I had some original exterior door hardware but I'll settle with having at least some of the other hardware - replacement pieces are pricey. If the door doesn't work size wise and you're handy you could add on to the bottom or top as needed. Craig's victorian blog has an example here, I think ...

I just replaced all the switches in my house with the push button ones from Classic Accents. They don't have the heavy snap of the old style but I know they're completely up to code and safe. Aside from switches I found the switch plates were the next big expense. I chose pure copper so I can strip ...

That first door is beautiful and I can imagine it stripped down with a pane of glass in it. It would be lovely as a storm door.
