Re: It’s window season!
Glad I will have company! I am hoping for three this season! I think I'm going to attempt to do one of our downstairs windows which are stained on the inside. Huge pro is that I don't have to scrape paint from one side (and the more detailed side at that! Woo! But it WILL take some work to figure ou...

It’s window season!
Hello my wood window friends! It’s finally window season here in New England and I am hoping to move a little faster this year now that I’m getting the hang out it! Starting to take stock this weekend of my supplies and decide what window I’ll do first. Anyone else focusing on windows this spring/su...

Re: Wood positive for lead? Advice please!
Really late to the party, but wanted to give my two cents about lead. We have a 1910 house in New England that definitely has lead paint. Some doors and trim, but mostly windows. Started taking the paint off the windows last summer to restore them. I have two kids under four so I was careful, but no...

Re: Finally reinstalled my first two windows!
Thanks everyone! There’s a reason I didn’t post any close up photos. 🤪 definitely not perfect, but I’m happy with them considering! And yes, manalto it’s Florentine. I had to replace a few panes and finally found someone in MA who could get it for me and was reasonably priced. That took some time! H...

Re: Thornewood Antics
Excited to have someone doing restoration alongside me 😜. I actually emailed with Jade because she’s about an hour away from me and in the fall I’m hoping she can make it to my house to give me a quote on a few windows I don’t think I can handle and need to be done sooner than later. And she’s going...

Re: Survey: Which direction should the shower door swing?
Manalto- our two upstairs bathrooms are currently gutted and our master bathe has almost the exact same layout as yours here. What did you decide to do with the shower door? We are trying to figure out what to do with ours. This post has been wicked helpful, but would love to hear how it’s been for ...

Re: Bedding glass and metal tapes vs. rope
Thanks everyone! My house has about 2/3 rope and 1/3 of these ribbons. I’m assuming they were all rope and then replaced with these ribbon things. There’s no weights attached to them anymore, so not sure how feasible it is to convert them back but would sure like to! One is not going all the way up ...
