Garage Rehab
After a month or two of picking away at the garage, I would say it is done for the time being. The house came with its original garage which in the late 1950's was moved once part of the back yard was sold. Over time rot took its toll along the bottom of the back wall and I would end up with a lake ...

Re: The old bathroom is new again. Or is it old?
So sorry about the delay in reply. Life and work have been over the top but in a good way! The sink was actually reclaimed from the bathroom that I gutted which they installed in the late 1950's. It is a bit too new for this bathroom but I think it looks good, seeing how it cost me nothing at all.

Re: Exterior Paint!
I plan on sticking with the new palette as it is now. I am not too sure that I want to add much more color.

Exterior Paint!
I have been away from the site for a few months. It is so enjoyable to sign on again and take a look at what everyone has been up to with their homes! About a month ago I decided to bite the bullet and have the exterior of the house painted. It was slated for next year but after pulling down some A...

Help! Paint advice!
Here is my issue folks. Back in the 1960's the owner painted everything and I do mean everything brown! With it went all of the detail of the bead board, trim work, and even the neat stair step like trim around the windows. It all vanished in a sea of dark brown paint. Fast forward to the 1990's and...

The old bathroom is new again. Or is it old?
The last major project is starting to reach the finish line! Another coat of paint on some trim and two coats on the door will make this room 100%! Just in time to enjoy the great weather outdoors. What a mess this room was. It never fails to amaze me as to what some people will do.

Kitchen turned Bedroom
When I bought the home just over a year ago it was decided to move the kitchen into one of the old bedrooms and turn the old kitchen into a bedroom. The old kitchen also had a full bathroom. Being that my home is not all that large it only made sense that the second full bathroom and newly vacant ki...

Re: Hello from Metro Detroit
I am so sorry about my slow reply! I do not have any notifications of when any post of mine is commented on. At CN I work on the former Grand Trunk Western's Detroit Service Zone. I am a signal maintainer. All and anything I do is electrical and sometimes mechanical. So, if it lights up, makes noise...

Re: The "New" kitchen.
Thank you all for the kind words and reassurance! The switch was made in part because the room in which the kitchen used to be in was going to be very difficult to obtain good usable counter top space along with and standard appliances. It know that sounds like a line from HGTV but trust me, it was ...
