Re: CFLs

I’m just concerned with a fire risk as this home is left alone for 5 to 7 days at a time. CFLs seem to put off a lot less heat.

CFLs

Ok.. I like them because they do not get hot to the touch.. You can leave them on for hours and they are so cool you can grab them with your hand and hold them for as long as you like.. Now I read CFLs get hotter than incandescent bulbs? How can this be when if you touch a CFL it’s warm to the touch...

Re: 1899 Victorian

Reinstalling my attic floor..

This picture is looking down through the wall from above in the attic.

Anyhow I have a curved wall at the front of my upstairs foyer.

Here is the back side of the wall. In the picture you can see how the carpenter formed this curve.

Re: 1899 Victorian

Wondering what purpose this would have severed? It is located in the basement. Seems to be a fireplace or coal burning stove.

Re: 1899 Victorian

Ok recently started cleaning, oiling entry way and dining room. Have not tried the tung oil on the worn parts of the floor as I was hoping to hear from experience of those that have used it first.
