Re: Vintage Kitchens..found something cool

I'd love to share pictures.

I'm having issues, I have them on my computer, but I'm getting an error message that my file is too big. I have a mac, does anyone know how to resize?

Re: Vintage Kitchens..found something cool

Lovesick, you know what's funny? I have the color swatches from the 30s too. I'm such a geek. I am not sure about the Techincolor approach to paint they had back then Diane, you are welcome! Do you have pics of your kitchen anywhere here? This is the one battle I am going to have with my architect....

I've had problems posting photos all day. I apologize in advance if these are too big or small.

Windows, where to start

I 'm quite certain that I'm going to start with my storm windows. The rubber at the top of a couple of them is missing, the spline is hanging off some others. They are aluminum and puttied in. Can you point me towards some tutorials to help get me started? I'm a little intimidated, because it's just...

Re: Treasure found behind the mirror! (and a shellac questio

I have a mirrored closet door as well. It's a coat closet. I love the mirror, I inagine what it's seen. The back of the closet door is so amazing and beautiful, it's smooth and shiny and perfect. I'm having an issue with pictures being too big or I would post one. Blame it on the wine or the new hou...

My house is telling me what it needs

I've been an old house owner for 5 days and it's already an adventure. There was a leak that was to be fixed as part of the inspection. It wasn't fixed, although a plumber came out, he said there was no problem. Saturday I took a shower, my daughter told me the kitchen ceiling bubbles and there was ...

Re: Wood trim

I think there are scratches in the porcelain with years worth of dirt and hard water ground in. I bought the house for the lovely woodwork, I just want to get it beautiful again. I researched movers and thought I had hired a great company. They tore wallpaper that is irreplaceable and gouged my wood...

Wood trim

Hello everyone, the little 1929 bungalow is officially mine! I was doing some cleaning last night and I noticed the wood trim around the windows has a coating which I'm guessing is 86 years of pledge and all that other stuff. How do I get this off? Also, the original tub is in the bathroom with newe...
