Re: Making a more "open floorplan"

Oh! Cool thank you, I'll look into replacing it, I'm still learning alot about it. Thankfully it came with the original user manual, lol. The sound is ok at best. I figured it was just the old records I find at the thrift stores. :)

Re: Making a more "open floorplan"

It's a silver tone 1921... I could be wrong on the year. We took a gamble on it, as it was not working. Thankfully it was just a broken spring and my husband is very handy!! We listen to it often :)

Making a more "open floorplan"

Well, I never ever thought I would be taking down walls to make it more open...but that's what we did yesterday! Before you cringe, let me explain.. We finally got settled in our new "old" house, a 1896 victorian, who has had some questionable rehabing done her over the years. My biggest g...

Re: Know and tube worries

Thanks again for all the info!!! Such good suggestions and so helpful! We just got back from a more detailed walk through. My father confirmed with his "sniffer" that the k & t is hot. The seller agent assured me that the majority of wire was updated for the whole house, and the k&...

Know and tube worries

Hi all! I've finally found my dream old home, 2.5 story 1872 victorian (one that hasn't been gutted and turned into an open floor plan.) Anyways, it has hot knob and tube as well as cloth and modern wiring. It seems to in decent condition as far as I can tell, but not sure exactly what I should be l...

Re: Waffle Iron Troubles

Thanks for all the replies! Its interesting to know that SOME may of not had a thermostat, there certainly isn't a thermostat or control on the body of this iron. Upon further inspection of the power cord, we believe that it may not be original, just an old replacement... maybe that is where a tempe...

Waffle Iron Troubles

Hello there! I am hoping that you may be able to help me with my waffle iron troubles.... A while ago I stumbled across this working Universal 1920's (?) waffle iron. The previous owners said that they used it often some years ago and assured me it worked. And so began my dreams of fresh waffles.......
