I have not found anything cool in ages. It's actually starting to depress me! lol!
But I am going to Cincinnati (aka The Paris of the Midwest ) next week to try some new stomping grounds. Wish me luck!

Re: Bizarre Parking Lot Find Before and After
Mirror is much improved! The glass alone for that would be expensive! And the sconces are very fun, too! They would look very nice with some fabulous antique Spanish santos sculptures on them too if you get tired of using them for lamps!

Re: What I did at my house today...
Thanks for the support, guys! I stared at it some last night, debating (obsessing) and it turns out it hadn't set up yet so I was able to go over it again with a putty knife and improve it quite a bit. Now I know to check the reverse side to make sure it is not showing too much through the glass. ha...

Re: Best Paint for Window Latches and Hinges
Yeah the hardware on the first two level isn't the type I would paint but this stuff in the attic looks like it was originally black enameled. The hinges are a silver metal that has some rust, too. @gothic, I think I will try the heavy duty Rustoleum, I think is says "professional" on it. ...

Re: What I did at my house today...
Slow progress... I think I am getting a little more skilled at glazing but I may have made it a bit too wide this time. Debating whether I want to actually redo it or just move on. Was originally thinking of staining and using spar varnish on the exterior portions but it absorbed the stain so weirdl...

Best Paint for Window Latches and Hinges
I'm cleaning up my hardware for the attic windows and I'm not sure what the best paint is to use on them. I think they were originally painted with some sort of extremely durable black paint. Any clue what I should use? I have a black rustoleum spray paint, would that be durable enough?

Re: Time for a new front door
Interesting! Can you tell us more about your house? I have never seen this sort of door on a home before. Is it a regional tradition, or common to a time period?

Re: What I did at my house today...
The corner cupboard is a family piece from my wife's great uncle. We had the only house it would fit into, plus my wife was her uncle's favorite. It was the last farm property sold to Willow Valley Resort in Lancaster PA. All the buildings were going to be salvaged, so the cupboard from the "n...

Re: What I did at my house today...
One frame stripped! Lots of bonus damage from dog nails. lol! The hardware is very pretty though! That looks so much better already. It's good that the damage is from dog claws vs rot, too. No vinyl replacement windows 4 U. Thanks! I hope I can make it look decent. There are so many claw marks and ...
