A. Fox, Try talking to the right local people. The Hammond Historic District Commission (m) or the Hammond Historic Preservation Commission (m) probably can help. They should know local trades people that are familiar with local building stock and resources. You could also talk to Gary Miller Beach....

Another option for a little profile like this is to get a custom router bit. In a router table, you can make narrow bead board. I buy them at Connecticut Saw and Tool in Stratford, CT. The window sash look great, but you need better aluminum storms. I have had success putting high quality storms on buildings, and then dealing with the sash as time permits. Sealing up the openings allows you to leave the sash alone until you have time, tools, and skill to do a good job. Leaving the...
