When we lived in CA we rented a small Victorian, loved that house. Sorry to hear about your Dad, it's always difficult to lose a p...

Re: wallpaper removal how-to (repost from old house web)

It's wonderful that it strips right off ! PO here pasted wallpaper right onto wallboard, sigh. I can peel off the top layer but then have to use a sprayer to wet the rest and scrape. Re: New here and lots of work ahead!

Hey Old house owners and lovers, I'm

InGeorgia. We purchased a 1910 2 story about 10 years ago and have been working on it off and on (mostly off). The house is a mix of styles, the most interesting feature to me are the fireplaces. There are 4 of them, 2 down , 2 up and they are built in a corner so the rooms have 5 walls. I'm in need...

Re: Mice extermination

Hey from an old gal in an old house that also had critters that wanted to live with us every fall. I'd read where police stations in Ca. started keeping stray cats inside to keep the rat population down and where just the smell of a cat would keep them out. Being tired of the trapping, poisons etc. ...
