Asking about floor refinishing
We need to have all of our floors refinished. For those of you who have had your hardwood sanded and refinished, about how much did it cost. I'm hoping to get all of the floors done at once, but you know how a budget is.

Here's the seller's picture of the fireplace. I'm stymied that anyone would have listing pictures taken with all this crap sitting around. But you can get an idea of what I am talking about with the boring brick.

We're in process of closing on a 1926 craftsman bungalow, midwest style. There is a fireplace with beautiful builtins in the living room. However, the brick of the fireplace is very plain and nondescript. In my dreams I'd like to replace with a clay tile surround, maybe green. I just don't have any ...

I needed on because the tile on the wall is original and I didn't want the plumbers to touch it. This allows for the install of a shower without going into the walls.

Would you switch from radiators to forced air if you could.
The house we're negotiating on has plenty of closet space for the runs for the central air system. Since we'll be able to do this easily, should we also replace the current boiler and radiators? We have enough wood to patch the floors, and it would free up space where the radiators are.

What kind of costs for a 2000 sq ft two story? Do you have to install a unit in each room? Not very attractive, or I should say rather distractive.
