Where to get wiring for old chandelier?

I have a set of matching antique chandeliers that were in two of the bedrooms when we bought our house. We have redone one of the bedrooms and I want to put this light fixture back but it needs to be rewired. I bought some wire at HD for this purpose and it is too fat to fit through the holes. There...

Architechtural Resource Center

Morning folks,

I wanted to pass on the information for a place the DH and I recently discovered. Architectural Resource Center, is your one stop shop for restoration hardware and supplies and their prices are really great! You have to call for pricing but they are super nice and very helpful.

Re: Window business brag

Two free tickets but we are too busy to go. It is a 6 hour drive, round trip on a Wednesday. The banquet isn't over until 8:30 and we have to be back in the morning for an appointment.

Window business brag

Awhile back in my $7500 House post Jade called me out and asked me to tell what I do for a living. Well, 3 years ago the DH and I started a window restoration business. It was born from necessity when we bought our old house and had 29 windows that needed restored and no one to do them in our area. ...

Re: Continually icy front walk

Maybe try a little sand? When the bad weather is over whatever is left can be swept off into the grass.

Snow in our neighborhood

Thought I'd share a couple photos taken in our neighborhood last week when we got a bunch of snow. This first one was taken on one of the 12 walking courts we have in the neighborhood. http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/ab20/Thomolli/520%20Oak/Furnature%20fixtures%20%20junk/OLSNOW.jpg This is the fo...

Re: $7500 house?

Here is a link to photos of the $5k house. Things are going along great so far. Not too many surprises. We have almost all the plaster out of the front and middle rooms. Normally removing plaster is anathema to me but there was no saving this stuff. It is just as well as we found some old termite da...

Re: $7500 house?

I went by today and got some pics of the outside of the $5k house. It is going to be great watching it transform from this poor little thing back into a cute little house. In December we bought the lot to the left when you are standing in front of the house. You can't see much of it but, there is a ...

Re: $7500 house?

The $7500 house guy sold the house without ever returning my calls. Thankfully. Next Thursday we close on a $5000 house right next to our shop. This house is in much better condition. It was built in 1900 has 1650 sqft. 3 bedrooms one bath, 3 fireplaces. It needs a new water heater and plaster throu...
