One stone down
This is an extension of a solidly concrete landing at the bottom of our side stairs. It's not needed as is, and leans towards the cellar to boot. I'm doing this with a cold chisel and a short shaft metal mallet. So far...so good. We are a bit worried about the bees we know live underneath, but so far I have not disturbed them.
We are dismantling this and will be reusing both the stone and the mortar. The stone to make a walk way on the east strip of grass by the driveway from the stairs to the front yard, and the mortar to fill some holes in the front concrete steps that climb the slope of the front yard before we start pouring concrete.
