A few blocks away is where the industrial district starts. One of many of Gardner's furniture making companies is on the street where Baker dead ends, and at the far end of that same street is Chairtown Lumber, where all of Beebe's original building supplies came from. Behind that street is a traintrack, and beyond that is heavier industry. I know I've been up too late when I hear the 4am train's whistle.
