library looking into the living room
Now we'll mention the secret passage that doesn't exist yet from the bedroom (office) closet in the previous room to the back of a bookcase in here.

When we looked at the first home we were interested in (42, which got me here on the District, and was the first home listed on my neighborhood thread), there was a shared closet between a first floor bedroom and the living room. We jokingly called it our secret passageway and thought it was the bee's knees.

Since then, we've not been able to shake the idea that it'd be really neat to have a secret passageway, where ever we live. So when we saw the layout here, we realized it wouldn't be hard or structurally compromising to do just that. Would it be historically inaccurate to be true to the home? Well, yes, but...secret passageway!

So if that passageway already existed, we could sneak through there from the office to the room you are in now. This helps the flow of the tour, and it's also fun to think about, so why not?

We're calling this room the library, although it may have been a living room/parlor in the past.

There is part of the hardware missing on the right door.
