Behold! The insulation power of the quilt
I wasn't kidding in my post when I said there was only two quilts up there that could be remotely considered insulation. Notice the house mice evidence. We didn't see or hear a single one anywhere else, but we plan to trap for a while in the attic to make sure they're gone. Not looking forward to taking out those quilts. I may be tempted to boil them and try to salvage, but I also think they are where the mice lived.
