On one of the older sites, one of the knowledgeable window folks recommended coloring the Sarco window glazing if the interior of the window sash was to be stained. If I recall, this helps to minimizing the whitish line of glazing on the inside of the window if your glazing work is less than perfect (which mine always is...) I don't remember if it was on the Old House Web or Wavy Glass but my google-fu is failing me.
I'm replacing a broken window pane and was curious on what to use to color the Sarco. I wanted to give this a try and see if it makes my glazing work less glaring. I have some Trans-Tint dyes plus a mix of some pre-mixed stains. I'm not sure which would be better without impacting the Sarco glaze.
Staining / Coloring Sarco?
Re: Staining / Coloring Sarco?
I recall this too, it was on WG, and the advice came from Jade (Heartwood), I don't recall what she said to use but I think it was a pigment as opposed to a dye or stain.
