Mortar Mix Help/Analysis

Post by Ober51 »

Hi All,

As some of you know, I have a decent amount of work ahead of me with regards to repointing. Can you tell me where I can get my existing mortar mix analyzed? I know not to use Portland cement as it is too hard and unforgiving, but I would like to get the mix analyzed to match color and consistency. I've heard there are services where I can send away my mix and they will tell me - 1:1:4 etc.

I appreciate any and all help!

Wow this is great, thanks!

Feel like this is more comprehensive and reasonably priced. I will reach out to them.
